Hi! I am so excited that you are reading this page! Truly I am! A little bit about me, I grew up in rural Massachusetts with my mom and two brothers. I brought home every lost, injured, displaced, scared animal within a one-mile radius of our home, sometimes caring for them for days unbeknownst to my mother. After graduating from high school, I joined the United States Coast Guard. At my first duty station, I convinced the CEO we needed a station dog and subsequently adopted Sassy, a rottweiler mix. Sassy became our mascot and was well loved by all. While in the Coast Guard, I meet my husband and we quickly expanded to a family of 5. Following the Coast Guard, I went to Western Michigan University and graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology. But my love of animals was never quenched. While raising our kids, I could never say no to their requests for additional fur babies. Since 2010, we have been a proud foster family of over 125 of Kalamazoo Animal Rescue's cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies. We continue to foster with Kalamazoo Animal Rescue to this day. Our journey with K-9 Body Shop began early in 2021 with a word from God, and an answered prayer for the former owners. Since then, I quit my corporate job, graduated from the Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology, and became a Fear-Free Certified Professional for Dog Grooming.
